How Precision Sizing Works
Oliver Manufacturing has been building the size right machine for sorting size and shape of materials for almost 90 years. With the help of gaining knowledge, experience, and innovations our size right machine has become top of the line in its category. The core function of the size right machine is to sort materials based on their physical dimensions—size and shape. This is done by using a series of cylindrical screens rather than flat screens, which is what sets our machine apart. These cylinders are like rotating tubes with precisely designed holes or slots. Depending on the material being processed, these cylinders can be customized with different shapes, sizes, and numbers of holes.
As materials enter the machine, they pass through these cylinders. Only particles that match the specific size or shape of the holes can pass through, while the rest continue to be processed by the next cylinder or are diverted away. This allows the machine to sort materials with extreme accuracy. For example, if you’re sorting seeds, only seeds that are the correct size and shape will make it through each cylinder and onto a conveyor belt, while the others are separated out.
By utilizing cylinders versus a flat screen, our precision sizing can more efficiently sort products by their size and shape. This sizing process ensures that every piece of material is evaluated and sorted with unmatched precision, making it a critical step in industries where exact sizing is crucial, like agriculture, food processing, or recycling. The cylinders (of which we create with different shapes, sizes, and amount of holes in the cylinders) allow specific sizes and shapes to pass through and onto a conveyor.
This machine can be set-up with different screen cylinders: round for sizing or slotted for different shapes. The output of this sizing equipment is commonly sized product which can then go on a gravity separator to further refine by bulk density.
