Gravity Separation in the Conditioning Process
How Does a Gravity Separation Table Work
The gravity separation table, or air table, is commonly used to separate particles by weight and density. But how does gravity separation work? It’s quite simple: imagine pouring a mix of heavy and light materials onto a table. The heavier items would naturally settle towards the bottom, while the lighter ones stay on top. This table uses air and vibration to help this process along, making it faster and more efficient. The air blows upward through the table, causing the materials to behave as if they are floating, while the vibration moves them across the table. A separation table can be used for any dry material as it moves on a “fluidized” bed of air across the table. The separator creates eccentric motion and has an adjustable uphill tilt which separates heavier particles from lighter particles. The heavier particles slide down one side, while the lighter ones are gently carried to the other side. As a result, light and heavy contaminants can be removed from your product. This makes the gravity separation process incredibly useful for industries that need to sort seeds, grains, minerals, or even plastics by weight, ensuring the end product is pure and free from unwanted materials.
We currently have done two recent upgrades in this machines technology. One, when it comes to the automation of its design, (you can now adjust the machine settings with just the touch of a finger) and the other is the invention of the end raise worm jack. These upgrades mean that the machine can adapt quickly to different products, making it ideal for industries that handle a variety of materials, allowing the gravity separation process to be even more precise. It allows for you to easily adjust the end raise for an even more efficient end product.
